We first opened our doors in 1938, making Absalon Hotel one of the few original mainstays of Vesterbro. Of course, much has happened since then. The third generation is now at the helm and while we have grown from just 11 to 161 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, we still remain as personal and warm-hearted as ever. The vision of Absalon is inspired by our family’s proud history of welcoming guests from all over the world, many of whom come back to stay with us year after year. Just a few minuttes walk from the Central Station you find this special place. A place with good traditions and a friendly service. The hotel has the perfect location if you want to explore the city. Thon Hotel Nordlys is called exactly what Northern-Norway are famous for, the northern lights. A bit further down north of the coast you can find Thon Nordlys, which is close by the harbour. Bergen is actually also known (and quite famous for it) as the "most rainy-city in Norway" and also with the most seasons in one day. Believe it or not, it can actually snow, rain, and be sunny in ONE day!

The walk down is also nice.
